2018 Year in Review: Highlight/Lowlight

2018.jpg

After any big event (vacations, holidays, etc.), my husband and I like to play a game we call HIGHLIGHT LOWLIGHT. We think about everything that happened and each choose the best and the worst thing that happened from our perspective. It’s completely open to interpretation, leaving room for interesting reflection and conversation.

Here were my highlight and lowlight from 2018:

HIGHLIGHT: Changing my job. For me, the unknown is a very scary thing. Making the decision to quit my job was a big challenge, even if it was a long time coming. I took a risk and chose uncertainty over familiarity, and it paid off more than I could have imagined.

LOWLIGHT: Hands down, getting injured in August and not running for 2+ months. While I do believe I will come out of it a better athlete, this was definitely a dark time of uncertainty and feelings of defeat for me. My momentum was crushed, but I am getting it back. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
