Summer Forever

Summer is a state of mind.

Today I walked by my favourite fountain, only to find that it had been turned off and was drained of water. I let out a soft “nooooo” and thought about how quickly summer had come and gone, yet again. At the same moment, I swear, the wind picked up and I felt a chill to my core.

There is still a month left, of course, and I’m going to milk it for all I can. Iced lattes, bbq burgers, ice cream cones, and flowing summer dresses — until I can’t feel my fingers or toes. And even when the cold sets in, I will hang on to that positive mindset and energize from within. Until the last snow flake melts and the fountains are gushing again.
