Just Another Sunday Runday

What a way to end this week.

My body wasn’t feeling right since Wednesday — some low-level nausea, stomach ache, generally feeling unwell. It wasn’t enough to stop me from going to work or doing my runs, but definitely had me in a bit of a haze. Every just run felt off, and my body couldn’t shake that blah vibe. I skipped all speed work, just trying to get through the miles in one piece.

This morning I slept in later than I would have liked, but set out on my long run anyway (thankfully midday heat is no longer a factor). I felt sluggish for the first 4-5 km, but once I hit the canal I started to catch my stride. I kept it slow but strong, and started to actually feel good by 8 km. I decided to make the run a 3/1 (75% slow then pick up the pace the last 25%), and felt amazing as I powered up the hill towards home. This post is of numbers of a watch, but what I can’t capture in a photo is the feeling of accomplishment felt especially after a week like this.

Looking forward to chilling out the rest of the day, and tomorrow’s complete rest day. It’s a brand new week ahead.
