A Little About Me

about me.jpg

Hello, friends! Let’s get to know each other better. I wanted to share a few things about myself for anyone who is new around here, and I hope you will all do the same.

WHO I AM: I’m Heather. I was born in Montreal 33 years ago, and I will always consider this city my home.

MY JOB: I work in clinical research as a manager. My job focuses on data, is very detail oriented, and involves different kinds of programming. I enjoy what I do, but am still trying to figure out if this is my “forever job”.

WHAT I LOVE: I identify as a runner, and running is a sport I have become very passionate about. I always thought it was a solo sport, but have learned fairly recently what an incredible community there is. I haven’t actually run in a couple months, though; I sprained my ankle in February, and am still recovering 4 months later because my foot and ankle didn’t heal in the correct alignment. Fingers crossed I will be over the hurdle soon.

WHAT I BELIEVE IN: I have been realizing how freaking important mental health. I spent most of my life striving to reach a tier of perfection that I had invented in my head, probably heavily enforced by societal influences. What I’m learning is that there is no perfect. Perfect doesn’t matter. We’re all pretty great exactly as we are, and there is no need for me to feel bad about things I would have previously considered shortcomings. As I grow into my new mindset, I hope I can enlighten others and help them let go of these burdens they carry.
