New Hobby Alert

Watch as the injured runner transforms into a cyclist ...

I bought this used spin bike this week and am falling in love. I felt a bit silly as I obsessively researched different bike models, comparing specs and prices (and asking everyone who posted if they offered delivery!). Was this really worth the effort? The money? Would this bring me more joy than my old (broken) upright bike?

YES.

I signed up for a free trial of the Peloton app (not sponsored!), and as I felt the sweat dripping down my face in my first workout I knew I had made the right choice. I had not felt that kind of rush from a workout since running in February, before spraining my ankle. I had woken up that piece of myself that was CRAVING the hard, sweaty workouts. It feels so amazing to have that outlet back in my life.

Working out indoors to a pre-recorded class is certainly a different kind of fitness, but I totally get the hype. I’m still willing my foot/ankle situation to heal up ASAP, but am so happy to have made this discovery to tide me over until I can run again.
