Daily Reminder: Self-Love

What do you see when you look in the mirror? When you really look at yourself? What do you feel? What kinds of things do you say to yourself?

Would you say those things to your best friend? To your sister? To someone you just met?

We are our own harshest critics. We judge ourselves, we are hard on ourselves, we put ourselves down. And when you think about it, our own voice is the one we hear from the most.

Negative self-talk happens. I try my best to have a positive attitude, but there are times when I don’t feel like my best self. What I find the most helpful is to acknowledge what I’ve said, and remind myself that it is unproductive. I think of how I would help a friend out of a downward spiral, and I try to apply it to myself.
